You're invited to share the history of Unincorporated Whittier by helping the County of Los Angeles Public Library create an online photo collection. As part of the Whittier Unincorporated Heritage Project, the library is hosting PhotoShare events at libraries around Whittier. Bring your historic photos and the library will convert them into high-quality digital images. You keep your photos and receive a free County of Los Angeles Public Library flash drive with your images for participating!

How to share your photos of Unincorporated Whittier:

1) Come by the library during one of our PhotoShare events.

2) Bring photos that show Unincorporated Whittier before 1980. We're looking for family celebrations, schools, shops, public transportation, street scenes, buildings, landmarks, cultural events, performances, people of Unincorporated Whittier, clubs and organization, and other photos of the area's history.

3) We'll scan/copy your photos and return them to you. For your participation, you'll receive a free flash/USB drive with your images.

4) We'll ask you to describe the photos and sign a release form so we can add your photos to the library's online collection.
